A turbofan engine is simulated in engine idle conditions. Total pressure and total temperature are imposed at the fan and core outlets (i.e. no energy variation by the engine), then a mass-flow rate coupling is used to impose, at the fan inlet, the sum of both outlets mass flows, which is computed at run-time (i.e. mass conservation, neglecting engine bleed and fuel addition). This can be used when, like in idle conditions, no information is available on the inlet mass-flow rate to be set as a target.
The mesh is 3D, so simulations in non-axial flow conditions are also allowed.
