Weird error in Modrinth, i can't find a solution. #5536

Please confirm the following.

  • I checked the existing issues for duplicate problems
  • I have tried resolving the issue using the support portal
  • I have ensured my Modrinth App installation is up to date

Describe the bug

Im a new user of Modrinth and when i try to enter my Microsoft Account, there is a windows on the Modrinth app that says "I/O (std) error: Failed to fetch player profile" The windows its called "An error ocurred" and there are two buttons that say "Get support" and "Close". I have tried everything, here is a list:

  1. Closed Modrinth and opened it again.
  2. Signed out and signed back in using my Microsoft account.
  3. Logged in through Microsoft again after entering my password.
  4. Restarted the Modrinth launcher.
  5. Checked that my account owns Minecraft: Java Edition.
  6. Opened Minecraft Launcher and logged in with my Microsoft account.
  7. Launched Minecraft Java Edition once and reached the main menu.
  8. Closed Minecraft and tried logging into Modrinth again.
  9. Cleared the Modrinth cache by deleting the ModrinthApp folder in AppData.
  10. Reinstalled Modrinth completely.
  11. Checked that my Minecraft profile / username exists on the Microsoft account.
  12. Tried logging in again after doing all of the above steps.

  2. Go to Not signed in
  3. Select your Microsoft Account
  4. Error message pop-up
