Release 2026.3.0 broken VERSION file

Describe the bug
Somehow the git-archive trick to generate the VERSION file doesn't work properly for 2026.3.0.

To Reproduce
Download https://github.com/amusecode/amuse/archive/refs/tags/v2026.3.0.tar.gz and unpack, inspect the VERSION file. It shows version v2025.9.0-114-gabf2cc4fbf, but should be showing v2026.3.0 instead.

Additional context
We do have a tag and we're downloading it, so no idea why this doesn't work.

Maybe the tag is not an annotated one? It was auto-generated by making a release on github.

Yes, that was it. I fixed it today, so things should work again.

I'm going to leave this issue open until we have a developer documentation page explaining how to make a release, which should include making and pushing the tag and then making a GitHub release from that.

That said, it's also arguably a bug in GitHub, because the correct way in git to tag a release is using an annotated tag, not a non-annotated one. Oh well.
